A guy goes to see the doctor and says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this". And the doctor looks at him and says, "Well don't do that!"

That's the short version of my MRI experience, except that when you pay a bunch of money instead of saying "don't do that" they say "modify your behavior". It turns out that I have a slight tear of this, and a possible tear of that, and early signs of arthritis. Nothing worth having surgery over, but they were kind enough to offer me a cortisone shot, which I declined. I'll save that for some future time when I really need it.
